Distribution:

Biology:
Adults visit flowers, e.g. Carduus and Cirsium and can be collected in deciduous, pine or mixed forests. Females have been observed to be kleptoparasitic on Laphrius (Diptera, Asilidae) with beetle prey (pers. observation). The larvae develop in dead wood.
In Greece specimens have been collected in May-August in Malaise traps as well as Quercus tree wine and Abies tree banana trap; 40-1180 m.
