Specimens can be collected on meadows and on tree foliage. They are attracted to defensive secretion of bugs (Aldrich 1970). P. securicornis has been reared from the nest of Formica rufa ants (Seguy 1935).
Phenology: May-July
In Greece specimens were collected in June in Malaise traps; 60 m.
