This image shows a female Efferia bryanti with its prey a Pentatomidae. The Freeloader walks all over the asilid and I believe remains attached even when the Predator flies some distance(at least if it transports its prey.
This population of Efferia bryanti is located between Paradise and Portal in Cochise County AZ.

Hi Bob, the small flies are Chloropidae, not Milichiidae.
