Milichiella trisetae
Differs from congeners in the combination of evenly spaced 3 dc, mesonotum brown microtomentose, and male T2-5 brown microtomentose except for silvery microtomentose lateral margin of T2 and narrow to broad anterior margins of T3-5, which get broader laterally to form silvery lateral margin.
Male coloration and vestiture: frons subshiny black, ocellar triangle and orbital plates brown microtomentose, lunule brown, basoflagellomere black, face brown microtomentose, palpus black; thorax with mesonotum brown microtomentose, scutellum and pleura same, wing hyaline with slight brownish tinge, veins brown, brown spot at tip of vein R1 absent, calypter brown, halter black, legs black except for yellow basitarsi; abdomen with T2-5 brown microtomentose except for silvery microtomentose lateral margin of T2 and narrow to broad anterior margins of T3-5, which get broader laterally to form silvery lateral margin. Female coloration and vestiture: halter black, abdomen with T2-5 brown microtomentose.
Morphology. Head: frons with 2+0.8 orbital and 1+0.7 frontal setae, anterior frontal seta medioclinate. In males frons 2.4x as wide at posterior margin than at base of antenna, arista about 5.6x as long as basoflagellomere wide, pubescence on arista very short, posterior eye margin with notch (3-4oc) and emargination (2oc). Female posterior eye margin without notch but emargination (3oc).
Thorax: 2+1 (evenly spaced) dc, 2 prsc, 1 pprn, 1+0.7 prs, 2+0.7 keps setae, posterior prsc about as long as posterior dc, seta between posterior prsc and posterior dc present. Wing with vein R4+5 and M1 weakly converging (1.6), and ultimate section of vein M1 3.0x as long as penultimate section. Fore femur normal setulose, tibial organ absent.
Male abdomen: posteromedial triangular projection of T1 into T2 weak. Tergal chaetotaxy: T2 anterolateral corner with 2-3 lines of setae, T2-5 brown parts and posterior margins of silvery parts setulose. S5 1.2x as long as wide, 1.6x as long and 3.2x as wide as S4, posterior margin indented, strongly setulose at posterior margin. Male genitalia with apical seta on cercus longer than epandrial setae, 1 seta on subepandrial plate, surstylus 0.8x as long as epandrium high, slightly bent posteriorly, not dilated apically, 7.9x as long as wide, structure of lateral surface smooth, medial surface with 3-4 setae along anterior margin.
Special characters: three evenly spaced dc; setae on head and thorax very long, anterior frontal seta shorter than posterior seta.
Body length: 3.6 mm; wing length: 3.4 mm.
