Desmometopa interfrontalis
General description:
Chiefly black, palpus chiefly yellow, know of halter yellow, fore coxa yellowish to brown, and all tarsi chiefly yellow. Orbital plates and interfrontal stripes wide, resulting in a narrowed "M". (Sabrosky, 1983)
Diagnostic description:
The narrow "M" is unique for Desmometopa.
Taxon biology:
Reared from palm log, rotting lettuce and decaying banana skins (Sabrosky, 1983). On chenopods and on Tephrosia sp. (Deeming, 1998).
