Desmometopa microps
Biology:
In Greece specimens have been collected in June/July with Malaise and yellow pan traps as well as banana trap in Quercus and Ostrya tree; 190-905 m.
In Czechia specimens emerged from wasp nest in August and have been collected in traps baited with pig carcass in May-September.
Diagnostic description:
Male postorbital area, which extends broadly to the vertex, is convex and together with the similar postgenal area can best be described as bulging. Females of D. microps are easily confused with those of D. sordida, but the postorbital area is clearly broader in D. microps. (Sabrosky 1983)
